5 Major Injury Concerns for Teams Ahead of IPL 2025 ft two Proteas stars


There are some teams that will sweat with the physical condition and availability of some of their players.

The next season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) is just around the corner and the teams have already started their preparatory camps. The season begins on March 22 with a match between the defenders of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Eden Gardens.

With the start date that is approaching, there are some teams that will sweat because of the physical condition and availability of some of their players due to injury concerns. In this article, we take a look at five of those stars that are not yet sure to present in IPL 2025.

Josh Hazlewood (RCB)

First is Josh Hazlewood, the Australian fast bowling player who was forwarded by RCB per Inr 12.5 million rupees during the mega auction. Hazlewood, who was part of the Australian team for the Border-Gavaskar trophy, managed to play only two games before an injury forced him to leave. His injury also left him aside during the Australia tour of Sri Lanka and kept him out of the Champions Trophy ongoing 2025.

Anrich Nortje (KKR)

The sensation of South African rhythm Anrich Nortje was acquired by the KKR defenders for INR 6.5 million rupees. Initially included in the South Africa team for the Champions Trophy 2025, Nortje underwent medical scanning that revealed that it could not participate in the tournament. Previously, he was discarded from the rest of the SA20 2025 season with a back injury.

Gerald Coetzee (Gujarat Titans)

Another outstanding South African rapid player on the list is Gerald Coetzee. It was acquired by the Gujarat Titans (GT) for INR 2.4 million rupees during the mega auction. It was anticipated that Coetzee would participate in the 2025 Champions Trophy, since it had been recovering from an injury to the hamstrings that limited it to a single match in the SA20. However, when returning to bowling, he reported discomfort and oppression in his groin, which finally left him aside for the Odi series in Pakistan, as well as the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Mitchell Marsh (Lucknow Super Giants)

The next in Focus is Mitchell Marsh, the versatile all -terrain Australian, which was secured by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for INR 3.4 million rupees. Marsh participated in four of the five tests of the Border-Gavaskar trophy (BGT) against India before being left aside in the final game, with Beau Webster taking its place. Jacob Bethell (RCB)

RCB said the young and promising English in English for INR 2.6 million rupees. Bethell, who was part of England’s team touring India for Odi and T20 matches, made a shocking debut in the first ODI by scoring a remarkable half century. Unfortunately, he was later forced to withdraw from the series due to an lesion in the hamstrings, which also found the Champions trophy. RCB will wait for Bethell to adjust in time to play at IPL 2025
