After Dwayne Bravo, KKR designates another former Western Indian player as an assistant coach for IPL 2025


Ajinkya Rahane has been appointed KKR captain for IPL 2025, with Venkatesh Iyer appointed as his deputy.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has appointed former Western Indies, Ottis Gibson as an assistant coach for the next Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Gibson will join a strong support staff. It includes the mentor of the Dwayne Bravo team, the chief coach Chandrakant Pandit, the Bharat Arun bowling coach, the Spin-Bowling coach Carl Crowe and others.

He replaced Ryan Ten Doeschat, who left last year with Gautam Gambhir and bat coach Abhishek Nayar to assume roles with the male team of India.

From 1995 to 1999, Gibson had a brief career as an international player. He was appointed Men’s Bowling coach from England in 2007 while he was still an active Crick player. After the transition to a full -time training role, Gibson has served as chief coach for the male teams of the Western and South Africa Indies. He also had a second season as England bowling coach and worked on the same role with the Bangladesh male team. In addition, Gibson was part of the Super League of Pakistan (PSL) and Yorkshire configurations too.

The defense champions have made bold changes before IPL 2025. KKR has gradually remodel both their back room and the game team. Dwayne Bravo’s announcement as the new mentor arrived in September last year.

Shreyas Iyer, who captained the team to his third title last year, was released before the mega auction. He was later chosen by Punjab Kings, where he was appointed captain. Ajinkya Rahane has now been appointed Captain of IPL 2025, with Venkatesh Iyer appointed as his deputy.
