The T20 National Cup is scheduled to start in Pakistan on March 14.
The senior players of Pakistan Babar Azam and Naseem Shah have retired from the National Cup T20. This comes after the duo that has been eliminated from the Pakistan team for the next T20i series against New Zealand in New Zealand. The T20 National Cup, which will see that 20 teams are divided into four groups of five, is scheduled to start on March 14.
The recent difficult race of Babar and Naseem
Babar has suffered a difficult race in T20is, since he could not score a single fifty in his last 11 entries. His last half century in this format for Pakistan arrived in May 2024 during a match against Ireland in Dublin. Pacer Naseem Shah, on the other hand, has taken only 10 WICKETS of its last 10 entries in this format.
Both Babar and Naseem were part of the 2025 Pakistan champion trophy campaign that the country organized. Pakistan ended fourth in the group A which composed of India, New Zealand and Bangladesh. The side led by Mohammad Rizwan suffered losses in New Zealand and India, while his last group against Bangladesh was dragged due to the rain in Rawalpindi. Babar scored 87 two -game races, while Naseem took two wickets, and both arrived against New Zealand.
PCB reduces matches for the National Cup T20
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to reduce matches of the players for players participating in the National Cup T20. According to Espncricinfo, players participating in the tournament will now receive 10,000 PKR, which is a 75 percent reduction in matches of matches. In the previous edition, the players received PKR 40,000 as matches of matches.
In 2022, players even paid 60,000 PKR matches. The report adds that reserve players will obtain 5,000 PKR PKR matches for each match.
