The Punjab Kings captain (PBK), Shreyas Iyer, gave a testimony of his brilliance of the Captaincy once again in the current Mumbai T20 League. After taking PBK to the final of the Premier League of India (IPL 2025), Sobo Falcons jumped to the Summit’s clash in the Mumbai T20 tournament.

The Falcons surpassed Namo Bandra Blasters in the semifinal accessory for five WICKETS. Now they will face Mumbai South Central Marath Royals in an attempt to win the flagship edition of the tournament.

While Iyer has lost the IPL 2025 final, he has the opportunity to redeem the loss and captain another team to a T20 victory.

The Middle Indian battery has given an exemplary exhibition of his leadership skills, where he directed the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to his third IPL title last year. While Kkr did not retain it, Iyer changed franchises and promoted Punjab Kings (PBK) to an IPL final in 11 years. Now, he will also lead Sobo Falcons in another final.

His recent record will play a crucial role, especially with multiple reports that claim that he is the favorite for the next white ball captain in India.

Currently, the Cricket team of India has divided the Captaincy into the formats with Rohit Sharma leading the Odi team, Suryakumar Yadav captaining the T20i and Shubman Gill team took over the test team.

Historically, India has avoided multiple captains, but in the future, the ideal scenario would be to have separate leaders for the white and red ball cryket and, given Iyer’s recent performances, the selectors will find it difficult to pass it for much longer.
