He bowled just one over after the lunch break in the second session and left the field due to some discomfort. Initially, it looked like a precautionary measure, but the injury looked quite serious and he is unlikely to bowl in this innings.

In fact, his participation in the remainder of the game is in jeopardy, given his way of leaving the field. For now, the only update is that Bumrah left the field and headed to the hospital, with more details awaited.

If they do not participate in the remaining contest, India will be under immense pressure and will find it tough to win the game. They are already without Akash Deep, and other pacers have been hot and cold throughout this series.

Jasprit Bumrah has done the heavy lifting for India during the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, bowling for long spells in almost every game. He has bowled 151.2 overs in this series, the second most among all and the most among Indian bowlers.

There was a statistic that Bumrah has been on the field for every day of this Border Gavaskar Trophy as a batsman or bowler, which shows how much he has done for the team. Every time the team required a wicket, Bumrah was called on, and the rest between spells has been minimal.

While he has remained in good form over the last one year, India were wise enough to rest him between spells and not play him so many matches continuously. Unfortunately, they have been tempted to play him in every game on this tour, and lackluster performances from other players meant he bowled too many long stretches.
