Pakistan national cricket team is all set to host Bangladesh national cricket team for the two-match Test series later this month. However, the series between the teams has been under scrutiny due to the recent developments in Bangladesh.
The Test series between Pakistan national cricket team and Bangla Tigers will begin on August 21 in Rawalpindi followed by the second match to be played in Karachi from August 30. Both matches will be part of the ICC Test Championship which will be crucial for both teams.
Ahead of the main series, Bangladesh A team was also scheduled to travel to Pakistan for two four-day matches and three 50-overs matches. They were all scheduled to travel to Pakistan on Wednesday (August 7) but their departure was delayed due to the current circumstances in Bangladesh.
The current situation in Bangladesh is very worrying. There are riots taking place in the country and there have also been many deaths. The country’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, has also resigned and left the country, reflecting the conditions in the country.
This has also led to speculation about Bengal Tigers’ trip to Pakistan. The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led team is scheduled to travel on August 17, but with conditions worsening at home, there is no certainty that they will travel to Pakistan on the scheduled date.
