Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old cricketer from Bihar, created history by becoming the youngest player ever signed in the IPL. He was acquired by Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.1 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
This marks a big milestone in his young career as Rajasthan Royals secured him after a bidding war with Delhi Capitals. Vaibhav will now get the opportunity to represent the Royals under the mentorship of coach Rahul Dravid.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already created history by becoming the youngest batsman to score an international century in a youth Test. At just 13 years and 288 days, he scored 104 off 62 balls for India Under-19 against Australia Under-19 in Chennai. This achievement adds to his growing list of impressive feats at a very young age.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s father Sanjiv shared that Rajasthan Royals had invited his son to the Tests in Nagpur where batting coach Vikram Rathour proposed him to score 17 runs in one over. Vaibhav rose to the occasion by hitting three sixes to reach the target. During the Tests, he impressed further, hitting a total of eight sixes and four fours, demonstrating his powerful batting skills.
“Rajasthan Royals had called him for trials in Nagpur. Mr. Vikram Rathour (batting coach) gave a match situation where he had to score 17 in one over. Bituwa ne 3 chakka mara. Trials mein aat chakka aur char chauwaa mara (He smashed three sixes. In the trials, he hit eight sixes and four fours),” Sanjiv told PTI.
Vaibhav is currently in Dubai where he is competing in the U19 Asia Cup. India’s first match will be against Pakistan on November 30 at the ICC Academy Ground. With a promising career ahead of him, Vaibhav’s signing in the IPL is just the beginning of what could be a bright future in cricket.
