As part of making SA20 2025, South Africa’s premier T20 tournament, exciting for fans, title sponsor Betway has introduced a new competition called ‘Catch 2 Million’.
The competition is for those sitting in the stands, as they must catch the ball with one hand when a batter hits it over the ropes.
Immediately, the contest had a participant. In the opening match between MI Cape Town (MICT) and Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) in Gqeberha, one Christopher Moolan caught the ball with one hand.
Moolan, sporting the SEC jersey, got his name on the list when MICT’s Dewald Brevis smashed Simon Harmer at deep mid-on off the first ball of the eighth over.

Brevis and Potgieter shine in first SA20 match
The third season of SA20 is off to an excellent start. MICT put the defending SEC champions to the sword.
Batting first, MICT were powered by former Mumbai Indians batsman Dewald Brevis who hit 57 off just 29 balls that included six huge sixes and a couple of boundaries. MICT lost three quick wickets in the seventh over after a good start as Brevis stepped forward with his clean knock.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Connor Esterhuizen made 22 with Colin Ingram equaling the contribution, while George Linder (23 not out) and Delano Potgieter (25 not out) added valuable runs late on to take MICT to 174/7 in 20 overs.
Marco Jansen and Richard Gleeson claimed two wickets each, while Beyers Swanepoel and Harmer claimed one wicket each.
In response, SEC barely recovered from Trent Boult’s double-wicket maiden in the third over as they were bowled out for just 77 runs. Potgieter, the medium pacer, was the leading smasher with career-best figures of 5-10 and was awarded the Player of the Match award.
The Durban Super Giants will take on the Pretoria Capitals in the second match in Durban on Friday. Meanwhile, the SEC will return to action against Paarl Royals in Paarl on Saturday after hitting a roadblock in the defense of their title. On the same day, Joburg Super Kings will take on MI Cape Town in Johannesburg.
