
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) succumbed to a new minimum after his defeat of four wickt against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in an IPL 2025 match in Chepauk on Wednesday. Not only were they officially eliminated from the tournament, but they established a forgetable record in home matches this season.
CSK’s home run to forget at IPL 2025
After his defeat against Punjab Kings on Wednesday, Chennai Super Kings has now lost five games in Chepauk in IPL 2025. This is the largest number of games at home that the yellow brigade has lost in a single IPL season. Chennai Super Kings had lost four games in Chepauk each in 2008 and 2012.
This is also the first time that Chennai Super Kings has lost five consecutive games in Chepauk. The SDE led by MS Dhoni remains at the bottom of the IPL classification of 10 teams with four points of 10 games.

How PBK beat CSK
Punjab Kings had won the raffle and chose to sign first against Chennai Super Kings. The hosts lost the openers Shaikh Rasheed (11), Ayush Mhatre (7), as well as the batter number four Ravindra Jadaja (17) in the power game. Chennai Super Kings were 48/3 in the PowerPlay phase, but Sam Curran (88) and Dewald Brevis (32) entered the rescue.
