Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are out of the playoff career for the current season of the Indian Premier (IPL 2025). They are currently the last ones in the Premier League India race (IPL 2025) with only two nine -game victories.

A franchise known for trusting experienced and veteran stars mostly for giving teenagers a break, now they have also resorted to the latter, giving opportunities to people like Shaik Rasheed, Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis this season. In particular, Rasheed was collected at the auctions for INR 30 Lakhs, while Mhatre entered as a replacement in the middle of the season for Gaikwad.

The franchise also signed the sensation of Dewald Brevis proteas for the injured Gurjapneet Singh, who made his debut in the match against SRH.

Echoing the same line, the CSK bat coach Mike Hussey has highlighted the importance of identification of talent and cultivation.

Speaking at the press conference prior to the match before CSK’s clash against the Punjab Kings (PBK) tonight, said Hussey.

“I think it is an area in which we have really identified in which we want to improve is on the side of the identification of the talent of things. Therefore, we have had different players that enter and train with us in several stages, almost in a little trial, but also when their names arise for an auction, then at least we have seen them, we have taken them into account, we give me more.

CSK has integrated the Rasheed and Mhatre duo together with Brevis in their team after a rigorous parties simulation training at its high -performance academy near Chennai.

Hussey expressed his confidence that the efforts of the players and the coaching staff of the Valdir would CSK academy, but immediately, then certainly in the long term.

He added that the CSK administration would maintain regular communication with young players, tracking their performances in national leagues and international competitions to guarantee their development before IPL 2026.

Until now, Mhatre has proven to be promising with early inputs, but has not yet become great scores. Rasheed impressed in the debut (27 of 19), but followed him with a dismissal of first ball. Meanwhile, Brevis began with caution against Sunrisers Hyderabad (17 of 17) before accelerating to a solid 42 of 25 of 25.
