Former Indian batsman and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik is currently in England. He is currently commentating on the Test series between England and West Indies which is currently underway at Edgbaston.
England had already won the series before the third Test match. Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik is best known for his match-winning knock in the Nidahas Trophy against Bangladesh, when India needed six to win off the last ball.
Karthik scored the winning runs for India. It was that match that breathed new life into his international career. He was part of the Indian squad for the 2019 ODI World Cup and also part of the Indian squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup. He retired from cricket after the 2024 IPL season.
He is currently a full-time commentator and also contributes to Cricbuzz. Currently, he is commentating for Sky Sports in England for the ongoing series against West Indies.

In an interaction on Reddit, DK answered a few questions posed to him by his fans. One fan asked him what his funniest moment in the Indian dressing room has been throughout his long career.
Interestingly, he picked the funniest moment involving former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.
“One of the funniest moments I was involved in was when Sourav Ganguly had to come back to play in Cape Town. He was waiting for a long time with his hands protected and the wickets didn’t fall. He had gone to the toilet and finally had to come out to bat and all that happened in a hurry. In fact, the game waited for a while before he could come back,” Karthik said.
Karthik picked Pakistan as the favourite team he had ever played against. He scored 261 runs in six Test matches against Pakistan. He played four ODI matches against Pakistan with a best of 31* and three T20I matches with a best of 11.
“I have to say my favourite team that I played against was Pakistan because there were a lot of fans following us and the rivalry is always very high so it’s always a lot of fun to play against Pakistan,” said DK.
He further said that Lasith Malinga was the toughest player he had faced in international cricket and called him a nightmare.
“The player I found most difficult was Lasith Malinga. I really found him difficult to pick. It was a nightmare.”
Karthik played 26 Test matches, 94 ODI matches and 60 T20I matches for Team India. He played his best game for India in the T20I format and that too in the latter stage of his career. Since MS Dhoni’s retirement from international cricket and with the rise of Rishabh Pant, it was Karthik who filled the void and played the role of a finisher. He played some impactful knocks in that role and scored his only T20I fifty in the format against South Africa in 2022.
