Before the ashes, England is organizing India for five tests. The second game will begin on July 2.
At the raw age of 19, Haseb Hameed was thrown into the English team in 2016, along with unconditional ones such as the pattern itself: Alastair Cook. He made a slow 31 of 82 in his debut in the test against India in Rajkot. But the young starter quickly followed him with a blow of 82. In the second test of the England tour in Visakhapatnam, he added 38 races in two tickets. In the third test, he was degraded to the number 8. Although he scored another fifty, the pattern found a better cooperator in Joe Root. Since then, Hameed played only seven more evidence, accumulating 439 general races at an average of 24.38, including four half centuries. After eight long years since his debut, Hameed has criticized the doors of the selectors when the nothinghamshire pattern leads the list of runners in the Division County Championship 2025.
Haseb Hameed shines for Nottinghamshire
Six years ago, Hameed faced a minimum race, after being released by his club after averaging only 9.44 in the previous season. Fast advance until 2025, and both Hameed and Nottinghamshire have suffered notable transformations that few could have planned. In the ongoing clash against Yorkshire in Nottingham, the employer opened the tickets with a 52 of 97 balls. But reigning at the top of the lists is not enough for the Cricket player born in Bolton.
Playing in his ninth first class in this edition of the County, he has four half centuries and two centuries in his name. In the process, Hameed has already collected 824 races at an average of 75. Previously, its average had shot up to 113.66.
Nottinghamshire’s resurgence this season has been as dramatic as Hameed’s rebirth in the last three years. Last year, they avoided the descent, ending only one place above the fall zone. Once far from being a contestant for the red ball titles, they are now unexpectedly at the top of the table. At the end of the May break, they had won six of their seven games and Saturdays nine points at the summit, even about Surrey.
Ironically, his only defeat came in a match that turned out to be Hameed’s outstanding interpretation. Facing Durham in Chester-Le-Street in a launch that favored the batters, Hameed delivered a master class. While the rest of the nothinghamshire batting alignment hesitated, he remained firm. He reached a double century in style, mentioning it with a six, and remained undefeated in 206, scoring at a quick speed just above 85.
“I am only trying to constantly improve. I have more experience now. I have played more than 100 first -class games, so I have an experience bank behind me, both in terms of ups and downs. Everyone gives you shape and develops you as a person and player. Naturally, you accept everything a little more,” says Hameed.

HASEB HAMED shows that England’s test selection for ashes 2025-26
Although Hameed can be humble about his rise, he is reaching its maximum point at the right time for Nottinghamshire. While he likes to play for the Notts, his dream is still synonymous with any other county player.
“I am 28 years old, I am entering my best. With luck, many of those years can be in an England shirt. All I know is that the coin of a batter is running. You must have the best opportunity to do that. I still have ambitions to play for England. As I have always said, I will have those ambitions for the time I am playing. That will never change,” Hameed’s actions.
Bazball batters left little space to improve during the first test in Leeds against India. Ben Stokes & Co. will organize India in the second test of the five -game series on July 2 in Edgbaston. But the English are also looking at another huge assignment of a red ball, the 2025-26 ashes, at the end of this year. Hameed would expect to put the limit #674 below.
