Both players involved in the incident have been hospitalized with suspected fractures.
In an extremely scary incident, Australian cricketers Daniel Sams and Cameron Bancroft suffered a nasty head-on collision during a Big Bash League (BBL) match between Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers today (January 3).
The incident occurred during the Scorchers’ 16th innings when Cooper Connolly bowled Lockie Ferguson’s delivery towards the leg side. Daniel Sams ran from the infield while Cameron Bancroft attacked from the outfield and the two players collided without either realizing the other. Sams was immediately left motionless on the field, prompting Thunder players to call for medical assistance.
The game was stopped for almost 20 minutes when Sams was taken off the field in a medical taxi and Bancroft also left, his nose bleeding. Both players were subsequently substituted.
