Indian batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal spoke about his match-winning innings in the fourth T20I against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. He said that he had his plans for the different bowlers and that he enjoyed batting.

One of the main architects of the Indian National Cricket Team’s victory in the fourth T20I against Zimbabwe was Yashasvi Jaiswal. The opening batsman, who was part of India’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, made sure he shone in a big way for his team and helped them seal the series.

After India restricted Zimbabwe to a total of 152 runs, it was expected to be a tough challenge for them to catch up but it turned out to be a piece of cake for the team. And the main credit for that goes to Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Captain Shubman Gill struggled with his pace initially but Yashasvi Jaiswal at the other end seemed unfazed. The left-hander played a brutal innings at the top and attacked the bowlers from the start to get his team off to a flying start.

Yashasvi Jaiswal played attacking shots from the start and smashed the bowlers all over the pitch. The left-hander made the bowler look clueless and proved his worth, especially after not getting a game in the 2024 T20 World Cup due to Virat Kohli opening the batting.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who joined the team in the third game, made sure to make a big impact in the next innings. The batsman played a match-winning innings and helped India dominate the game and win it by 10 wickets to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match T20I series against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team.

Yashasvi Jaiswal finished off an unbeaten innings of 93 runs off 53 balls. It looked like he was going to score a sensational ton but Shubman Gill at the other end finished the game. He along with the captain added 156 runs. The young opener had a strike rate of over 175 and hit 13 fours and 2 sixes.

I really enjoyed batting today – Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal spoke about his innings with the bat and said that he was delighted with the way he batted. The young opener also spoke about his partnership with Shubman Gill. While speaking about his plans, he said that he wanted to face the bowlers but thought about building the innings. Speaking after the win, he stated:

“I really enjoyed hitting today. I had plans for different pitchers. The ball was coming when it was new and as it got older it was quite slow.

“I enjoyed batting with Shubman. Initially, I was thinking about facing the pitchers and as the innings progressed, I thought about how to build it up and hold on till the end.”

We will next see Yashasvi Jaiswal in action when India take on Zimbabwe in the third match. The match between the two teams will be played on Sunday (July 14) at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.
