The 39 -year -old said that except the 2014 IPL season, Glenn Maxwell has not met expectations. The Cricket player born in Melbourne accumulated 552 races of 16 games at a strike rate of 187.75 in IPL 2014, when he had played for Kings Xi Punjab (now Punjab Kings).
“He has taken the carpet on us (IPL) in 10 years, man. He has thrown the carpet on each franchise. He has played for almost all franchises and has earned more than one million dollars every year. I think outside the 2014 season, he has not lived in his potential. Not once,” Uthappa explained.
Glenn Maxwell’s struggles in IPL
After leaving Punjab Kings after IPL 2017, Glenn Maxwell had periods with Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Maxwell scored 513 races of 15 games at IPL 2021, his first season with RCB, and continued its positive form with the bat for the next two seasons.
However, the veteran suffered a forgettable campaign with the franchise in IPL 2024, scoring only 52 races of 10 games and taking six wickts. After being released by RCB, Maxwell was acquired by Punjab Kings per Inr 4.2 million rupees. In the IPL 2025, Glenn Maxwell scored 48 seven -games races and took four Wickts before a fractured finger discarded it from the rest of the season.
