Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Angkrish Raghuvanshi has accredited the hitter Swashbuckling Sureyakumar Yadav for helping him develop his game against the spinning spins.

While both Angkrish Raghuvanshi (KKR) and Suryakumar Yadav (Mumbai Indians) are on opposite sides in the Premier League India (IPL), both play for Mumbai in the National Cricket. In IPL 2025, Angkrish Raguvanshi scored 300 races from 12 games at an attack rate of 139.53.

It was only one of the two KKR batters who scored 300 or more races, and the other player was Captain Ajinkya Rahane (390 races of 13 games).

“Playing in the releases in Mumbai has helped me develop my game against Spin, because the ball turns a lot in some releases in Mumbai. I like to learn from Suryakumar Yadav on how to play Spin,” said the winner of the U-19 World Cup during an interview.

In the IPL 2025, Raguvanshi scored 138 races against the spinners at an attack rate of 132.69, according to Wisden. It had an average of 60.50 against spinning between 7 and 16 with a strike rate of 131.52. It reached 12 limits between these overs, which is the majority among all Kolkata Knight Riders’ batters this season.

To date, Raguvanshi, who made his debut in IPL in 2024, has played 22 games and scored 463 races at a strike rate of 144.69. He has scored only two half centuries, one in each season.

Kolkata Knight Riders, the defenders who arrived at IPL 2025, suffered an exit at the league stage after ending in the eighth place. The side led by Ajinkya Rahane ended with only 12 points of 14 games. Kolkata Knight riders had defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight WICKETS to lift the IPL title last year.
