ICC has given PCB a day to reflect on Hybrid Formula for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Reports claimed that the ICC has given PCB a day to reflect on the Hybrid Formula. The governing body has also drawn up a plan if the Pakistan Cricket Board remains firm in its stance of hosting the entire tournament in Pakistan.

It is known that if that happens or even if Pakistan threatens to withdraw from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the ICC will move the tournament to a completely different country. Therefore, the host country is expected to go ahead with the hybrid model.

The ICC meeting lasted only 15 minutes before it was decided to reconvene in the coming days.

The ICC meeting was scheduled for today, Friday (November 29). But reports claimed the meeting lasted only 15 minutes before it was decided to reconvene in the coming days. The meeting will take place tomorrow and most likely the decision will also be known.

Few scenarios related to the ICC Champions Trophy have emerged and as per the hybrid model, it is known that all of the Indian National Cricket Team’s matches, along with a semi-final and the final, will be played outside Pakistan. .

Pakistan may not be one of the eight nations participating in the tournament

The other scenario suggests that if Pakistan withdraws from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the entire tournament will be played outside the country. Reports claimed that if the hosts withdrew from the tournament, there is also a possibility that Pakistan will not be one of the eight participating nations in the tournament.

Even in the hybrid model, the Pakistan Cricket Board will retain its hosting rights of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The same model was adopted during the last Asia Cup. The tournament was scheduled to be held in Pakistan, but India did not agree to travel and as a result, the tournament was played in Sri Lanka, where India played.

As per the original schedule, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in February-March. Hosting rights were handed over to Pakistan in 2021.
