The Gaddafi Stadium will be delivered to ICC for Champions Trophy 2025 on February 11

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that the iconic Gaddafi stadium in Lahore will be delivered to the ICC on February 11, just over a week before the start of the Odi Champions trophy. The delivery will occur after the Tris-Series of Pakistan against New Zealand and South Africa.

ICC had established January 31 as the deadline for the delivery of the three places: the Gaddafi Stadium, the National Stadium in Karachi and the Rawalpindi Stadium, which will organize the tournament in Pakistan.

A PCB source told PTI that final touches were applied to the Gaddafi stadium. The source acknowledged that the stadium had been a construction site and pointed out that there were some rubble, which would soon be cleared. After six months of renewal work, the stadium is now about to end.

“… This has been a construction site and there will be some rubble, which will be eliminated shortly. This stadium has taken shape after six months of work,” said the source.

According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board has invested around 1.2 billion Pakistani rupees

The president of PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, inspected the Rawalpindi stadium on January 28, but Pakistan ‘Dawn’ reports suggest that the Board cannot meet the deadline of January 31 for the preparation of the Champions Trophy place.

According to the reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board has invested around 1.2 billion Pakistan rupees in the improvement and construction of new buildings in the places of Karachi and Lahore. In the Gaddafi stadium, the seat capacity increased with new chairs, and 480 modern LED lights were added to improve the quality of the transmission.
