Saim Ayub’s injury is serious and it has been confirmed that the batsman has a fracture. But one positive fact is that it has not caused any long-term damage to the batsman. Dr Jeyaseelan recommended the batsman take a six-month break to allow for a full recovery, according to ARY News.

Ayub will undergo consultations with a panel of specialists in London. You will also perform some additional tests, including x-rays, to finalize your treatment plan. But if PCB follows Dr Jeyaseelan’s advice, then the batsman will be excluded from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

However, PCB has not made any official statement so far. Although the batsman’s inclusion in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 remains uncertain, the decision on his inclusion in the squad will be made by the governing body based on further medical reviews and evaluations.

PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has taken a personal interest in Ayub’s injury. He has ensured that the young batsman gets proper treatment. He called the batsman a “valuable asset” and stated that he would be provided with all the necessary resources for his rehabilitation.

Saim Ayub’s absence will leave a big void in the Pakistan national cricket team as the opening batsman has been in great form. He has been going through a rough patch with the bat as he recently hit two tons in the ODI series against South Africa.

Ayub then scored 14 runs in the first innings and followed it up with a score of 27 runs in the second innings. But if he now fails to play in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, it will be a huge blow to the Pakistan national cricket team.
