ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Tournament in danger? Pakistan ‘Behind the schedule’ sends ICC to panic mode

According to reports, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is not happy with the Cricket Board of Pakistan (PCB), and the governing body of the world can move the entire Trophy of ICC 2025 champions to the EAU, since the work of renewal in the three places it has not yet ended in Pakistan.

According to a report in Revsportz, the renewal works in the host places for the next ICC Champions Trophy 2025, especially the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore, are “behind schedules.” However, some experts are minimizing the situation, claiming that it is not an important alarm cause.

PCB faces pressure to complete the renovations of the stadium as ICC warns about the possible relocation of the ICC 2025 champions trophy

The 2025 Champions Trophy is ready to start on February 19 in Karachi, while the Lahore Gaddafi stadium will be the host of the first game in the tournament between Australia and England on February 22. .

Originally, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) received the deadline to complete the renewal work before December 31, but the deadline was extended until January 25. Now, a Revsportz report said the PCB asked for a few more days, but they secured the ICC of this Gaddafi stadium would be ready for February 1.

As for the other two places, the National Stadium in Karachi and the Cricket Rawalpindi stadium in Rawalpindi, things look better. Rawalpindi is almost ready, while Karachi is giving the final touches in his preparations for the next ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Lahore is still the biggest concern for PCB and ICC

Lahore remains the greatest concern for both PCB and CPI, and renewal work progresses at a fast pace since workers work both day and night, but still require a significant effort to meet the deadline.

It is said that the Pakistan Cricket Board may not deliver the Gaddafi stadium to the ICC until after the next Tri-Series Odi, with Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa.

This Triserie Odi will begin on February 8, with the first two games that will be held in Lahore. Some experts blame the delay in the “Jugaad” culture, since the work only began in all its strength six months ago despite the fact that the PCB received the rights of accommodation three years ago.

Do not worry, it will be done: Rashid Latif

Meanwhile, the former Pakistan captain, Rashid Latif, said the renewal work in Rawalpindi and Karachi is complete. He also revealed that the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore is being rebuilt from scratch, so it takes longer.

Rashid Latif was summoned by the same website: “Fikr Nahi, Ho Jaya (do not worry, will be done). Pindi aur karachi toh ho gaya hai. Aur Bol Toh Raha Hai Lahore Bhi February 1 Tak Hoyega (Pindi and Karachi are already ready). According to them (PCB), work in Lahore will be completed before February 1. Actually, they are rebuilding the Gaddafi stadium from scratch. That is why he is taking so long. “

In particular, the redevelopment work at the Gaddafi stadium is progressing rapidly, but the hacking climate has been a great setback, and only half of the chairs have been installed in Lahore.

The Pakistan Board has spent 12 billion Pakistani rupees to renew three stages, but could not provide a clear explanation behind the delay, since the ICC is supporting the country with some margin.
