Brevis’ late review cost him his wickt.
The chief coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Stephen Fleming, has shared his verdict on the controversy with respect to Drs’s call of Dewald Brevis during the Premier League (IPL) clash of Dewald Brevis against the Royal Challengers Bengalu (RCB). He said “it was a great moment” of the game. Taking into account the current shape of the protease mass, 42 races could have easily pursued in the remaining 3.3 overs.
“It was a great moment. When talking to Jaddu [Ravindra Jadeja] And Brevis was going on many things immediately. I think they saw the Ricochet ball and actually went to the limit by four. And he lost to that if Brevis took the review on time, ”he said at the press conference after the game.
Stephen Fleming about DRS controversy
The incident took place in the third ball of 17. Brevis lost the complete launch of Lungi Ngidi and landed in his pads. Although the referee instantly pointed out, he started running for races with Jadeja. After almost 25 seconds, they decided to review the referee’s decision.
However, the referees declared that the DRS could not be taken since the stipulated time of 15 seconds was over. Brevis returned to the pavilion for a golden duck. The Kiwi coach explained how the waste of time when turning the strikes has cost them in the game.
“The other part of this, because they delivered it, we would not have obtained the races. While we would have kept the wickt, it would certainly have not given us the five races, which would have been pleasant. But it is a great moment in a great game. There were turns and tours until the end,” Fleming emphasized.
