Rishabh Pant Becomes Only Second Cricketer After Sachin Tendulkar To Be Nominated for the Prestigious Laureus Award


The awards ceremony will take place in Madrid on April 21.

Pant Rishabh of Wicktkeeper India Rishabh has written the story after following the steps of the teacher Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to become only the second Indian Cricket player to receive nominations for the prestigious awards of the Laureus World 2025 sports awards.

Pant has been preselected in the return category of the year after its heroic return to the Indian side after surviving a horrible car accident in December 2022. The awards ceremony is scheduled in Madrid on April 21.

For the unreserved, Pant suffered multiple wounds when his car hit a road divisor on the Delhi-dehradun road while traveling home in Roorkee. Initially he was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to Dehradun, with head injuries, back and feet.

After receiving preliminary treatment in Dehradun, Pant was transferred by plane to Mumbai for specialized care under the BCCI consultant. After surgeries to repair three ligaments in his right knee, he underwent rehabilitation at the National Academy of Cricket (NCA) in Bengaluru.

The 27 -year -old recovered and returned to play for his team then from IPL, Delhi Capitals before a triumphant return to try the Cricket, scoring a century against Bangladesh in his first game in the format after the accident.

Yes, PANT is part of the Indian team currently in Dubai for the Marquee ICC event. However, the dynamic left -hander has not yet appeared in a match with KL Rahul assuming the main wickt maintenance tasks.
