Saha expressed her desire to spend more time with the family, since she said she had to reject the offer to be KKR’s assistant coach is next season.

“Throughout my career, I have believed that if someone wants to take a task, they must be absolutely ready. I am not ready for that type of training post, so I rejected an offer to be an assistant coach in Kolkata Knight Riders. I am sure that it would have been a fantastic opportunity, but I had to decline because I knew I needed more time before compromising with a complete training role, “Saha told Sportstar.

Saha, who made his first -class debut for Bengal in 2007, has played more than 400 games in all formats and scored more than 12,000 races for the team in 18 years.

I wish I would have played in a World Cup

He also made his international debut against South Africa in Nagpur in the 2010 test series. The goalkeeper’s battery went on to play 40 tests, scoring 1,353 races at an average of 29 and claiming 92 trapped and 12 stumps.

“Throughout my career, I have believed that it is the performance that defines a player, not public relations. Sometimes, I feel that if I had prioritized the team, my statistics could have seen each other better. But for me, the team was always the first. He could have played fewer games, but self -promotion was never my thing, “said Saha, reflecting on his career.

In the IPL, Saha was fundamental for the Gujarat Titans to achieve the title in their debut season in 2022 scoring 317 games of 11 games at the top of the order. He never enjoyed the center of attention during his international career with injuries shortening his play time and Rishabh pants facing gloves such as the first choice guard.

“My wife Romi always wanted him to be part of the Indian World Cup team, but that never happened. It would have been special to play in a World Cup, but some things are beyond the control of one, “said Saha.
