The IPL 2025 mega auction will truly be a magnanimous affair as for the first time in the history of the IPL, all the Indian Premier League teams will fetch a purse value of INR 120 crore each. Ahead of the IPL auction, the BCCI has directed all franchises to submit their IPL 2025 Retention list by 10/31/2024 at 5:00 pm IST.

If a franchise opts for the 5 retentions, they will have to shell out INR 75 crore of the portfolio value of INR 120 crore on the 5 players they decide to retain. Several teams including but not limited to Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and RCB could opt for a complete overhaul and hence player retention is highly unlikely in these franchises.
