The Gujarat Titans have appointed former Australian goalkeeper Matthew Wade, who was part of his team last season, as his IPL 2025 assistant coach.
Wade played for the Gujarat Titans for two seasons, in 2022 and 2024, but was not part of the mega IPL auction after retiring from the International Cricket.

GT announced Matthew Wade as his assistant coach through his social media handles. They welcomed him to the team, calling him champion and fighter while expressing his emotion for his new role in the GT Dugout.
“Champion. Combatter. Now our assistant coach! Welcome again to GT Dugout, Matthew Wade!” Gujarat Titans wrote in X.
Wade played 15 games at the IPL, with 12 of them for Gujarat Titans. He was also part of the team that won the title in 2022.
The former Wickt carrier in Australia was part of the Hobart Hurricanes in BBL 2024-25, where the team won the championship. He played nine games and scored 168 races in the tournament.

As an assistant coach, Wade will work with Chief coach Ashish Nehra and his fellow coaches attendees Parthiv Patel, Aashish Kapoor and Narender Negi in the coaching staff of Gujarat Titans.

GT had a disappointing performance last season, ending eighth at the table. They will look for a better performance this time. During the auction, they reinforced their team by adding players like Jos Buttler and Kagiso Rabada.
They will begin their IPL 2025 campaign with a game at home against Punjab Kings on March 25.
