The current Premier League season of the Premier (IPL 2025) has stopped halfway due to ongoing border tensions between India and Pakistan. The development has subsequently resulted in speculation regarding the new start date and the possible windows that can take place.

End at the air of ambiguity, the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) has now issued an official statement, confirming that the tournament will be suspended for only one week. All information about the updated schedule will also be shared in due time.

BCCI’s statement said: “The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the rest of the Tata IPL 2025 in progress with an immediate effect for a week. More updates will be announced on the new schedule and the places of the tournament in the case of due for a comprehensive evaluation of the situation in the consultations with the relevant authorities and the stays.”

Speaking about the IPL 2025 classification, the Gujarat Titans (GT) are currently the toppers with 16 points of 11 games. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Punjab Kings (Pbks) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) complete the first four respectively with 16, 15 and 14 points.

The match between PBK and Delhi Capitals (DC) is expected to stop halfway last night to end in a draw with both teams that share booty. However, the IPL website has not yet updated the points table and an official confirmation is expected.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals (DC) has 13 points of 11 games in fifth place, while Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are sixth with 11 points in 12 games, and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has 10 points of 10 games.

These seven teams are still in the playoffs race. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are out of dispute.
