The ViceCapitan of England, Harry Brook, surprisingly decided to retire from the entire IPL 2025 season. The decision to retire a few days before IPL surprised many. The former captain of England, Nasser Hussain, spoke on this subject and speculated the reason behind him.

Hussain feels that Harry Brook already has a lot on his plate, since he is one of the few format Cricket players for England. Since Jos Buttler had renounced the captaincy, Brook is also seen as the contender for the role of the Captaincy of the White Ball of England.

In recent years, Brook has grown up and has become the pillar in the batting department for all formats. However, her sudden withdrawal of the IPL has been a sudden shock for her fans.

Nasser Hussain reveals why Harry Brook retired

While talking to Sky Sports, Nasser Hussain speculated the reason behind Harry Brook coming out of IPL 2025. He feels that Brook already has a lot in his plate and could have had a conversation with the managing director of England Rob Key about the captaincy of England.

“I think it could be a signal (to get out of IPL 2025). Rob Key may have talked to him and said: ‘You have a lot on your dish. We may want me to captain.’ Who knows?

“The last one was lost in personal family reasons. You may think good, I will concentrate on the Crick of the Test Party,” said the former Patron of England.

England will play a series of five games tests against India at home since June 2025. Then they will travel to Australia for a series of ashes. Brook is likely to play a key role in both series.

Nasser Hussain expects Harry Brook to return to the form

Nasser Hussain also said that Rob Key and Brook could have already had a conversation about the workload of the latter. Wait for Brook to return to rhythm soon, since he has rested from the IPL.

“I would be surprised if Rob Key has not had a conversation with him yet and asked what he thinks about his workload next year and that may have been the conversation. Only Rob Key and Harry Brook will know it,” Hussain calculated.

“But it has rested and, hopefully, will return to the rhythm, you will find some way and be awake and shoot for two absolutely vital test series ahead,” added the former batter of England.

Harry Brook retires from IPL 2025

Harry Brook retired from the IPL for the second successive season. He had to play for Delhi Capitals this season after the franchise pocketed it for the 6.25 million rupe franchise. Brook’s decision was transmitted by the ECB to BCCI last week, who later informed Delhi Capitals.

There is a great possibility that Brook can be prohibited for two years to participate in the IPL in accordance with the new IPL rules. The IPL has not yet made it official, but Brook made it clear on social networks that needs some time to cool off an agitated schedule.
