Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has targeted Indian national cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir after the team’s 3-1 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He said it is important for the BCCI to maintain a different coaching staff for the white and red ball teams.

Gautam Gambhir faces a lot of criticism for India’s poor performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

Many have blamed coach Gautam Gambhir for the defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The tactics adopted by the Indian national cricket team were questionable, and even the team selection was unimpressive throughout the series.

The batsmen of the Indian National Cricket Team struggled for consistency throughout the series. In the bowling department too it seemed like only Jasprit Bumrah was carrying the team as he hardly had any support in the phases where the team had a chance to gain momentum.

While India’s performance throughout the series was poor, there was some drama off the field as well. It is reportedly learned that head coach Gautam Gambhir wanted the team to play their way and told the players to also curb their natural playing tactics.

It’s time the selectors, Board and think tank realize that red ball cricket and white ball cricket and their coaching staff need to be separated – Parth Jindal

With India outclassed by Australia, Parth Jindal made a bold comment and said nothing was up to par for the team. Criticizing Gautam Gambhir, he said that the BCCI needs to separate the coaching staff for the two formats. On his Twitter account he said:

“There is no doubt that Australia has been the better team throughout this series – the Indian team’s selection, batting display and off-field drama have not been up to par. It’s time for the selectors, the Board and the think tank. “To realize that red-ball cricket and white-ball cricket and their coaching staff should be separated.”

The game has evolved and most youngsters give priority to the white ball – Parth Jindal

Parth Jindal further added that as the game evolves, young players are focusing on white-ball cricket. He urged the BCCI to identify and hone red-ball players before congratulating Australia and South Africa for reaching the final of the World Test Championship. He explained:

“The game has evolved and most youngsters are prioritizing the white ball and therefore it is important to identify and hone the red ball players and give them a platform to perform. Congratulations to South Africa and mainly Australia for a well-deserved place in the WTC finals.
