KKR advised to leave this batter and adjust Venkatesh Iyer’s batting position before the SRH shock in IPL 2025

Venkatesh Iyer hit the number 5 against the Mumbai Indians.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has been advised to let Angkrish Raghuvanshi fall and adjust Venkatesh Iyer’s batting position before his match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Venkatesh Iyer hit the number 5 against the Mumbai Indians, but scored only 3 races. In the second game, he did not hit since Kkr lost only two Wickts against RR. In the first game against, he hit number 4, but achieved only 6 races.

Sanjay Banggar and Aakash Chopra have suggested that KKR should let Venkatesh Iyer beat at number 4.

Venkatesh Iyer should hit at number 4, says Banggar

During the waiting time program in Espncricinfo, Sanjay Banggar shared his thoughts about the Kolkata Knight Riders’ batting order (KKR). He said he is not convinced that Angkrish Raguvanshi should hit at number 4. Instead, he feels that Raguvanshi should be used mainly as an impact substitute, only when necessary.

Banggar also explained that having Raguvanshi and Ajinkya Rahane in the team pushes the rest of the batters below in the order, which may not be ideal. In his opinion, Venkatesh Iyer at number 5 is not the optimal choice, and should occupy the number 4 in place. In addition, he feels that having Ramandeep Singh at number 9 makes no sense. Therefore, his suggestion is that KKR should exclude Raguvanshi from the main XI and play it as an impact submarine when necessary.

“I am not convinced that Raguvanshi arrives at number four. It should, most of the time, be an impact subcontrol, that is, if necessary. Because what happens when you have Raguvanshi and Rahane together is that they simply push everyone. SANJAY BANGAR said.

The battle order adjustments necessary for the best results

Aakash Chopra agreed with the point of Sanjay Bangar on Kkr’s batting order. He said that, since KKR has a player like Venkatesh Iyer, who has had a good performance in the past and was bought for a large amount, he must hit in his best positions, which are number 1, 2 or 3. If Iyer bats lower than number 3, it becomes a problem.

However, the problem is that Ajinkya Rahane can also hit only in number 1, 2 or 3, which means that the last thing you should enter is number 4. If you make fun of later, it would not be fair for your skills. To get the best of both players, KKR needs to rethink their batting order and make sure they are placed in positions where they can work well.

“I agree because when you have someone like Venkatesh Iyer here and what he has done, and the amount of money you have spent, ideally, you must put it in the place to which it belongs, which is, I think, 1, 2 or 3. If he goes to any minor of the three, it is a problem. But then you have Ajinkya Rahane, who can only walk in 1, 2, and 3. and where I should be hitting.

Although Angkrish Raguvanshi has proven promising in number 4, his position is to push Venkatesh Iyer al No. 5. could be better for KKR if Iyer moves until number 4, while Raguvanshi is used as an impact substitute.
