Ajinkya Rahane will lead Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025.
The defenders of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) announced Ajinkya Rahane as Captain before the 2025 Premier League season of the Indian Premier (IPL). Venkatesh Iyer has been appointed Vice-Capitán. Previously, KKR separated with his winning pattern of the title Shreyas Iyer.
Rahane was acquired by INR 1.50 million rupees in the mega auction, while Venkatesh was acquired by INR 23.75 million rupees. Both Rahane and Venkatesh have previously played for Kolkata Knight Riders.
From going not to return to Kkr
Mumbai’s mass spent the last two seasons with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He was part of the CSK side that won the IPL title in 2023 and scored 326 races of 14 games, including two fifty. However, he suffered a disappointing season in 2024, scoring 242 races of 13 games without half a century or century.
The 36 -year -old had not sold at the initial stages of the 2025 IPL auction in Jeddah last year, but in the accelerated round later, Kolkata Knight’s riders obtained their services for their base price of INR 1.50 million rupees.

Venkatesh Iyer has been loyal to the gentlemen since his debut in IPL in 2021. The general batting played his first game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Abu Dhabi. He opened the tickets with Shubman Gill and scored 41 27 -ball races, helping his team to win for nine WICKETS. To date, Venkatesh has played 50 IPL games and has obtained 1,326 races at an attack rate of 137.13. He has criticized 11 fifty -one century. The only century of Venkatesh arrived against the Indians of Mumbai (MI) in 2023.
It was rumored that the 30 -year -old directed KKR, but that role finally went to Rahane, who played for the knights in 2022. However, Rahane had an IPL mediocre campaign at that time, scoring only 133 seven -games races at a 103.91 strike rate.
Kolkata Knight Riders will begin its defense of the IPL title with a game at home against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Eden Gardens on March 22.
