KL Rahul attributes the former KKR coaching staff for a white ball change after a crucial blow to CSK vs delhi capitals IPL 2025 clash

India’s Wicktkeeper, KL Rahul, accredited India and former Kolkata Knight Riders’ batting coach, Abhishek Nayar, for the improvement in her game T20 after her 77 winning balls of 51 balls for Delhi Capital against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday.

After losing the opening partner, Jake Fraser-Mcgurk, for a duck in the first Over, Rahul stayed in the fold until the last one and hit three six and six limits on his blow that helped DC to win for 25 races.

Nayar has been part of the Indian wardrobe as part of Gautam Gambhir’s coaching staff, since India won the 2025 Champions Trophy in Dubai in which Rahul played a crucial role with 140 four -ticket races. He remained out three times to see India pass the line.

“I have worked very hard in my white ball game. I have worked a lot in my white ball game with Abhishek Nayar since he arrived at the Indian team for hours and hours together. Somehow, I forgot the fun of hitting the limits and Sixes on the road. I wanted to take the game deeply and that somehow stayed in my head,” Rahul said in a chat with the mentor Kevin Pietters for IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ISPLA.

“But now I realized that the Cricket has changed and especially the T20 Cricket has changed. It’s just about hitting limits and six and the team that hits most of the victories. So I enjoy my cryket again and not think about all other things, just see the ball and be aggressive when putting the pressure on the Bolse player,” Rahul added.

DC batting struggles against CSK

Rahul, who has more than 4,000 races in India Premier League (IPL) in his name, felt that his blow lacked fluency at the beginning, which took 15-20 races of the total of 183/6 DC in 20 overs.

“The opposition was stuck in the media as it was. He could have left 15-20 races in the rear. At the beginning, he was trying to reach the limits but not timed well. But a little break (strategic waiting time) really helped and immediately started,” Rahul said.

Rahul also talked about dealing with the highly humid summer heat in Chennai and hit with an empty stomach.

“I was cooked. He was really wet and was hungry before the game, he ate anything,” said the 32 -year -old man.

Accredit Abishek Porel, Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs

Rahul also accredited teammates Abishek Porel (33 of 20 balls), Axar Patel (21 of 14 balls), Sameer Rizvi (20 of 15 balls) and Tristan Stubbs (24 not out of 12 balls) for their contributions to the score.

“Sometimes they do not give credit to these 20 rapid races. Axar, Sam (Rizvi) and Abishek, everyone entered and contributed runs. In the context of this game, they are huge and they took the pressure. Those associations really worked well for the team and that is what we can build,” Rahul.

The starter also joked with Pietersen, who once criticized his batting style for being too slow.

“It’s better than ‘seeing dry paint on the wall’ … That was your tweet about me one day,” Rahul joked with Piettersen as the duo returned to the locker room.
