Look: "He doesn’t know how to bowl…":Rohit Sharma hilariously ridicules Mohammed Siraj for his bizarre proposal

The third day of the first India vs Bangladesh Test match in Chennai ended prematurely due to poor lighting. There were more than 9 overs left to play when the umpires asked the players to leave as the light was not sufficient for play.

In some cases, umpires allow the match to take place but do not allow the pacers to operate at that time due to visibility issues. Earlier this month, England pacer Chris Woakes was forced to bowl with spin midway through the over due to bat light during the Oval Test against Sri Lanka.

The situation was similar in Chennai as Mohammed Siraj had already started his fourth over when the umpires stopped play due to poor lighting. After stopping play, umpire Rod Tucker took out his light meter to check the visibility.

He was then joined by his colleague Richard Kettleborough. The two umpires briefly conferred before deciding that the light was not sufficient for play to continue. When the umpires asked the players to leave the field, Indian captain Rohit Sharma asked if he could use bowlers.

And while the umpires and Rohit Sharma were arguing, Mohammed Siraj came up with a very funny suggestion. After Rohit asked the umpires about the use of spin bowlers, Mohammed Siraj started practicing bowling with spin. The bowler asked his captain if he could bowl with spin.

The umpires gave Rohit the option to continue with spin but the Indian captain hilariously rejected the proposal saying, “he (Siraj) can’t bowl with spin.” Rohit’s comment left his teammates and the umpires in stitches as they left the field.

Meanwhile, India have the final say in the match and will look to win it on Sunday (September 21). Bangladesh, who managed an improbable total of 515 runs, ended the third day on 158 for 4 runs, with their captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (51) and Shakib Al Hasan (5) unbeaten at the crease.

Earlier in the day, centuries from Rishabh Pant (109) and Shubman Gill (119*) helped India declare their second innings at 287/4.
