India captain Rohit Sharma is currently going through a difficult phase in his cricket career. However, he received some support from former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu during these difficult times.
Sidhu reminded everyone of India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup and stated that the Men in Blue remain a force in limited overs cricket. He also praised Suryakumar Yadav, who took over from Rohit Sharma as India captain in the T20Is.

Navjot Singh Sidhu took to social media and reminded India of the T20 World Cup victory in 2024. India recently lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, but Sidhu chose to look at the positives.
He praised team captain Rohit for leading India to win the title in the T20 World Cup 2024. Sidhu also praised Suryakumar Yadav for India’s fantastic results under his captaincy in the T20I format.

Navjot Singh Sidhu had also earlier spoken in favor of Rohit Sharma. He supported Rohit to return despite speculations about his retirement.
Rohit Sharma at Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25
Rohit Sharma was in poor batting form in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he scored just 31 runs in three Tests at an average of 6.20. He didn’t seem confident in any of his shots and even fell from the last match in Sydney.
Rohit played the second, third and fourth Tests of the series after missing the first match due to the birth of his second child. In his absence, Jasprit Bumrah led India in the first and fifth Tests of the series.
Mixed year for Rohit Sharma
Meanwhile, it was a mixed year for Rohit Sharma in 2024. He led India to win the T20 World Cup in 2024 with excellent batting performances and impressive captaincy. Rohit scored 257 runs in eight matches of the tournament at an average of 36.71 and a strike rate of 156.70. He also emerged as the second-best runner in the tournament.
After leading India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup, his form dipped significantly and his form went from bad to worse in the Test format. He had a poor Test season at home as he struggled for runs against Bangladesh and New Zealand.
In 10 home Tests before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Rohit scored 133 runs at an average of just 13.30. He had only half a century to his name during this period and his best score was 52.
