Mohammad Rizwan was seen about PCB treatment, demands more power in the team selection after argument with Aqib Javed

Mohammad Rizwan shuddered with Aqib Javed on the selection of personnel on the New Zealand tour.

There is never a shortage of controversies and drama in the Cricket of Pakistan, and has increased greatly since Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan were omitted on the T20i side. His warm batting approach, which led to numerous losses for Pakistan, was too evident to ignore, and the selectors opted for fresh weapons that could hit vigorously.

However, the movement did not please the senior duo, and the PCB left them frustrated with the treatment. According to a Telecom Asia Sport, Babar and Rizwan report they will meet with the president, Mohsin Naqvi, in the next few days to obtain clarifications about their selection in the T20I format.

In addition, the same report added that Rizwan has asked for more power in the team’s team as a captain in the Odi format. He has threatened to resign as Captain of Odi unless he is granted greater autonomy.

“Rizwan will seek more power in the selection of eleven in the party and there is the possibility that, if not all the powers, then they could give up the Odi Captaincy,” said Senior sources of PCB to Telecom Asia Sport.

The tension between Mohammad Rizwan and coach Aqib Javed

The report also revealed that Mohammad Rizwan fought with Aqib Javed, Pakistan chief coach, about the selection of personnel on the New Zealand tour. Rizwan wanted to play five specialized bowling players in the XI, but Javed suggested four regular customers, with Salman Agha and Irfan Khan to complete the remaining ten overs.

Unfortunately, the movement did not work for Pakistan, since the Timers admitted a lot to let New Zealand lead in the game. That was the key reason behind the argument between the captain and the coach, which could lead to a change in the training department.

PCB has told Aqib that some foreign coaches are in conversations and will replace it as a white ball coach. Aqib took over the reins in November last year, but Pakistan’s performances did not improve drastically.

They failed to win any game in the 2025 Champions League and had a forgettable tour of New Zealand, winning only one of the eight games in white ball formats. Several foreign coaches have previously entered the configuration, but their mandate ended abruptly, so it will be interesting to see if a new coach can last on this team.
