The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally opened to the absence of Pakistani officials of the present presentation ceremony 2025 final between India and New Zealand in Dubai.
The PCB is not satisfied with the way things have gone and is ready to register a complaint to the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the matter, PTI reported. The ICC has given its clarification about the absence of Pakistan officials, but the PCB has rejected it.
The Pakistani Board is not satisfied with the clarification given that a member of its Board was already present in the field. The problem created controversy and somehow eclipsed a successful champions trophy.

There are no PCB representative at the final ceremony of CT 2025
Initially, the president of PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, was expected to be on stage for the final presentation ceremony, but unfortunately he could not travel to Dubai due to some reasons. In the absence of Naqvi, the CEO of PCB, Sumair Ahmed, was sent as representative of the country.
However, he was not invited to the CPI stage that led to great controversy. There were four dignitaries who presented the awards and medals to the players and party officials, but no one of them was from Pakistan.
“The ICC, apparently, has said that he had prepared for Mohsin Naqvi to be on stage, so when he did not appear to the final, they changed their plan,” said a source.
The president of the CPI, Jay Shah, delivered the trophy to the winning captain Rohit Sharma and also gave the medals to the players of the winning team. The president of BCCI, Roger Binny, presented the Jackets White to the Indian players and gave the medals to the party officials.
BCCI’s secretary, Devajit Saikia, was also on stage with the CEO of New Zealand Cricket, Roger Twose. In particular, there were two BCCI officials on stage, but Pakistan hosts did not have a single representative.
Mohsin Naqvi thanked the officials
After concluding the tournament, the president of PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, thanked all the agencies and officials for guaranteeing the behavior without problems of a successful tournament. In a statement, he said that Pakistan is proud to organize this tournament and make it memorable for fans.
“His commitment and collective efforts assured the perfect execution of the prestigious tournament. Pakistan is proud to be the host of the Champions Trophy and turn it into a show for Cricket fans worldwide,” he said.
The tournament was organized by Pakistan with all the teams playing their matches in the country, except in India. The BCCI said they did not receive permission from the Indian government to send their team to Pakistan.
As a result, the tournament was organized in a hybrid model with India playing all its games in Dubai. In general, the tournament became successful from the point of view of Cricket.
Other controversies during the tournament
Although the tournament was organized well by Pakistan and Dubai, there were some controversies that the headlines created. The PCB is not happy with so many errors from the ICC and asked the ICC to an explanation.
This includes the absence of the name of Pakistan in the live transmission logo of the India-Bangladesh party. The ICC described it as a technical error from its side and ensured that it will not happen again.
Another controversy broke out when the Indian national anthem was played during the Australia-England game played in Lahore. The ICC called him a confusion since the error was corrected soon.
