The Ravichandran Ashwin YouTube channel will not discuss the Chennai Super Kings matches for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015, confirmed a note from the channel administrator.

The decision follows a social media storm that began with Prasanna AGORAM, the former Bengaluru analyst of Royal Challengers and a regular channel, criticizing CSK’s decision to choose Afghanistan Spinner Noor Ahmad at the November auction.

After the consecutive losses against RCB for 50 races and then to Rajasthan Royals for six races, Prasanna felt that CSK made a mistake when choosing Ahmad when they already had Ashwin and Ravindra Jadaja in the ranks.

The comments received a violent reaction from CSK fans, since Ahmad is currently the head of the purple cap with 10 WICKETS of four games to an average of 11. Meanwhile, the experienced duo of Ashwin and Jaada are in three and two wickets respectively, while CSK languishes in the ninth place with only one victory and three consecutive losses.

When CSK chief coach Stephen Fleming was interrogated about the online debate, he left aside by saying: “That is irrelevant.”

While guest’s opinions are obliged to contradict the decisions of CSK Management at some point in the season, they are still far from influencing what is happening with the team’s actions. Ashwin himself has not been aware of things, since his average has shot 40 after playing 13 overs in three games so far.

The tastes of Ahmad and Matheesha Pathirana have assumed the burden of CSK bowling with the rest unable to find their balance. Even more worrying is the fact that the Ruturaj Gaikwad team has played three of the four games in Chepauk and has lost two of them in a stadium that was a strength in recent seasons.

CSK will face Punjab Kings in New Chandigarh on Tuesday, since they expect an increase in the results.
