Phil Salt’s century to increase IPL 2025 auction value
It came as a surprise when Phil Salt, whom many expected Kolkata Knight Riders to retain, was released by the franchise on the retention deadline day. After playing a key role in winning the title, Salt’s last century has certainly raised his profile, and his performance is likely to boost his stock in the upcoming IPL 2025 auction.
Since KKR has exhausted all held slots, they will not be able to use an RTM (Right to Match) card in Salt. If they want him back, they will have to compete in the auction with other franchises. In Salt’s current form, it is expected to attract significant interest and could sell for a high price.
In IPL 2024, Phil Salt scored 435 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 182.01, including four half-centuries.
