Rishabh Pant reaches major milestone during his fighting knock in Sydney Test against Australia

Pant looked in his natural element.

Dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant rose to the occasion in the last Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) and produced a brilliant knock during India’s second innings.

After contributing a feisty 40-ball 98 in the first innings, Pant attacked the Australians in the next innings and looked in his natural element, blasting a quickfire 33-ball 61 despite the match situation calling for caution.

Pant continued to flirt with danger, bowling a red-hot Scott Boland for a six off his first ball while compiling six fours and four sixes during his stay, hitting at an explosive rate of 184.85.

However, his overall performance in the ongoing BGT has not been the best by his standards. Pant scored 255 runs in five matches and nine innings, maintaining an average of 28.33 and a strike rate of 59.02, which included just a half-century. He has failed to turn most of the promising beginnings into big successes.
