Sanjay Manjrekar predicts India vs Australia Test winner

India’s upcoming Test tour of Australia is already creating waves of excitement in the cricket world and Sanjay Manjrekar has made a surprising statement regarding Team India’s batting unit for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

The Indian cricket team is currently preparing for what could be one of its toughest Test series yet, facing a formidable challenge in Australia.

With the prospect of fast, bouncing pitches and an aggressive opposition, the focus naturally turns to India’s bowling attack.

Indian bowlers to dominate tournament: Sanjay Manjrekar highlights key to success in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

While all eyes are on India’s bowling attack, Manjrekar said they will head to Australia with the strongest unit ever to face the Kangaroos in the upcoming five-match Test series.

Former Indian cricketer said that Jasprit Bumrah is at the top of his game and is ready to lead this fearsome Indian bowling attack on the much-awaited tour of Australia.

The sheer dominance that Bumrah has shown across formats leaves fans wondering what new heights he can reach in Australia, which is known for testing bowlers to their limits.

The cricket pundit said the possible return of Mohammed Shami will add to Team India’s pace power, and then the fiery Mohammad Siraj and promising seamer Akash Deep make their pace attack perfectly equipped to meet the Australian conditions.

Manjrekar: Team bowling is not a problem for India

Sanjay Manjrekar was quoted by ESPNCricinfo as saying, “In fact, I tell you something, India have been to Australia before, but they might have the best bowling attack right now because Bumrah is at the peak of his career. I mean, you just wonder what other high point he has left or what heights he has left in team bowling.

“So, Bumrah will be there. If Shami comes back, let’s not forget Mohammed Shami. Then you have Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Bumrah and Akash Deep as options. Also, you have a left-handed bowler who excites everyone. So, team bowling is not a problem for India. I think the Australians will find them very difficult.”

Sanjay Manjrekar says India’s batting will determine victory on Australia tour

Sanjay Manjrekar believes this bowling attack will be a nightmare for Australian batsmen, capable of wreaking havoc on even the best of them in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. However, India’s success in Australia may ultimately depend on their batting line-up, according to Manjrekar.

The pressure will be immense for India’s veteran players including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who must shoulder the responsibility of scoring the bulk of the runs. But the high-profile Test series could also be a test of fire for young talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.

Sanjay Manjrekar concluded by saying, “India just have to bat well. Their senior players have to carry the load. And I think in many ways this is a test for Yashasi Jaiswal and Shubhman Gill, and if they win, India could win another series in Australia. We will have to wait and see.”
