Chennai Super Kings (CSK) tested newcomer Vansh Bedi as an open-player Dewald Brevis on number 4 during an intra-scad practice match during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Both Vansh Bedi and Dewald Brevis have not yet played any game at IPL 2025. Bedi was bought by Chennai Super Kings during the auction for INR 55 Lakh, while Brevis joined the team as a replacement for the injured Gurjapneet Singh.

Chief coach Stephen Fleming said that while the team is focused on doing it well this season, they are also thinking about the future. He explained that if the next games do not leave as planned, they could begin to give more opportunities to young players in the second half of the season to help them grow and prepare for what is ahead.
“We have our eyes in the season, but we also have a bit of a look forward, making sure that we are developing players for the future and that could be the second half of the season, if it doesn’t go well in the next games,” Fleming said.
Fleming said there are several other players in the team that have played a lot of Crick. He mentioned that everyone is good, and it is just a matter of finding the right place for them in the eleven game.
“There are several other types that have played a lot. They are all good players, and it is just where they fit,” he added.
