The Australian terrain Cameron Green revealed a sincere message he received from Jasprit Bumrah when he prepared for back surgery in October made him feel positive.

Green, who suffered stress fractures in the late 2024, had to undergo surgery to play again and be ready for the final of the Australian World Testing Championship against South Africa.

When Bumrah sent him a message, India was still in dispute for a third consecutive final appearance of the WTC and were in direct competition with Australia, whom they were prepared in a trophy of five border-garavaskar games.

Bumrah and Green had been teammates in the Indians of Mumbai for a brief period at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Green felt that even with the unique connection, Bumrah had communicated with him having gone through a similar procedure previously.

“That is really special. And it makes you feel much better about it. I did not play with him in Mumbai, but that was the connection through there. I spent a little time with him there. To get someone like him to approach and then see him during the summer, to see how good it is obviously after the surgery, he filled me with great confidence,” Green said in an interview with Cricbuzz.

Green began his rehabilitation of surgery in February after Australia had qualified for the second consecutive final after beating India 3-1 at home. However, it is unlikely that the 26 -year -old will leave in the final against South Africa due to the workload and play as a pure batter.

He had prioritized the WTC final, which also meant letting the great payment check of the IPL 2025. Green chose to get out of the auction and played in division two of the County Championship with Glousteshire, where he was in an impressive way.

The young man scored three hundreds and an undefeated half century from nine entries and was seen in a great rhythm on the networks while preparing for the grand final as of Wednesday.

“The silver lining to have four back injuries is that I have four opportunities just to be a batter. I felt that my game has always been good in those periods. So, that is never to take away, I will always follow bowling. But you are much more relaxed. Half game to worry, which is obviously pleasant,” Green said.

Australia will face South Africa in the Lord from June 11 to 15.
