Iyer made a good 48 while chasing 252 in the final before going to a great shot against Mitchell Santner and captured in a short leg. Venngekar, who was the main selector between 2006-08, was happy that Iyer has finally noticed his potential.

“Iyer did it very well, but I’m not happy for the way it came out in the final. It should have continued until the end and finished the game. But happy to see him realize his potential, ”said Venngekar about Iyer, who finished the second highest scorer in the tournament that included two fifty years.

India implemented a couple of bold but understandable strategies in the Trophy 2025 Champions, which also included the sending of Axar Patel before a more recognized mass such as KL Rahul in number 6. Both acted during the crucial games while forging key associations and entries parked in India when the first three were quickly fired.

“KL also played some important entries in number six, but he still did not convince Axar Patel batting ahead of him at five. The left right -hand combination could be the only reason, ”Venngekar told PTI.

Venngekar praise selectors for choosing five spinning champions tropy 2025 squad

The former first -order hitter was full of praise for the selection committee led by Ajit Agkar, specifically choosing five recognized spinners, specifically adding Varun Chakravarthy instead of Yashavi Jaiswal to the final team. It worked very well for India when Varun picked up nine three -game Wickts, including Fifer against New Zealand in the group stage. The Indian spinnings demanded a combined total of 26 WICKETS in the tournament.

“Credit must also go to the selectors. They stayed with Rohit after the Australian series. Even the decision to make five spinners in the team proved to be a master coup, ”said Venngekar.
