Punjab Kings coach (PBKs), Ricky Ponting, gave a crucial update about the availability of the Yuzvendra Chahal spinner for the Playoffs of the Premier League of India (IPL 2025) after his victory against the Mumbai Indians (Mi) tonight (May 26).
In particular, Chahal had lost the game against me and was also absent in the previous PBKS accessory against Delhi Capitals (DC) as well. It is understood that he is breastfeeding a minor injury in the doll and Management of Punjab did not want to risk.
However, Ponting has now put all the doubts about his ability to rest, confirming his return to the playoffs.
“Chahal should return,” confirmed the Australian coach during the presentation after the Pbks vs Mi game game.

Speaking about the PBKS vs Mi clash, the team led by Shreyas Iyer continued its star form in the season, ensuring a comfortable seven Wickt victory over the five times champions. After restricting MI to a score from 184 for 7, PBKs reached the target, guided by extravagant blows of Priyansh Arya (62 of 35) and Josh Inglis (73 of 42). Captain Shreyas Iyer did not remain at 26* OFF 16 to take PBK on the completion line.
The Punjab team is currently the toppers with 19 points of 14 games and is guaranteed from a final between the first two. However, its final position of the League will only be decided after the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) tomorrow (May 27).
Regardless, Punjab Kings will now play in qualifier 1 and will have two opportunities to ensure a position for the top of the summit. They will face RCB if they beat LSG or Gujarat Titans in case RCB loses.
