This decision can now see Brook fulfill a two -year prohibition under the new IPL rules where a player is subjected to being penalized if he is removed after being chosen by a franchise at the auction. You will not be allowed to participate in the next two auctions as well.
An official statement on the prohibition has not yet come from the IPL Government Committee.
The new regulation was introduced before the 2025 auction, after the contributions of the 10 franchises. These teams expressed concern for repeated instances of foreign players who withdraw at the last minute, which caused the need for this change. The only condition in which a player can exempt himself is whether he has been injured or will suffer injuries.
In a note to franchises last September, the IPL said: “Any [overseas] Player [an] The auction and, after being chosen at the auction, is not available before the start of the season will be prohibited from participating in the IPL/IPL auction for two seasons. “
