RCB hit the kings of Punjab to reach the final IPL 2025.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been chasing its single title in India Premier League (IPL) for years. Having reached the final of IPL 2025 when erase the kings of Punjab in qualifier 1, RCB is a victory to close that elusive trophy.
Directed by Rajat Patidar, RCB has had a remarkable race this season. They have won 11 of the 14 full games and have lost only three times. They had an almost perfect game against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur.
In a field that had help for bowling players, RCB wreaked havoc, grouping the opponents for only 101. Suash Sharma and Josh Hazlewood starred three wickets each. There were some nervous in the race after losing early Kohli virat, but Phil Salt guided them home with a brutal fifty.
While players have done a great job in the field, there is a man who deserves much of the credit for the RCB race to the IPL 2025 final. That is his chief coach Andy Flower.
Andy Flower Blueprint in RCB reaching the final IPL 2025
RCB appointed Andy Flower as chief coach in August 2023. He had to work with more or less the same set of players available, since there is not much that he can do in a mini auction. Flower led the team’s strategy in the mega auction of IPL 2025, whose results can be seen.
For a long time, RCB was a team that depended largely on great stars, and that was often the reason for its fall. This has changed in recent years, and IPL 2025 is the best version so far. They have had eight different players winning the ‘game player’ this season. It is not precedents.
Having several players who take a step forward in different stages makes RCB an extremely dangerous team. And why has that happened? Flower has had a story of assembling teams with clear roles. He has done the same with this team.

Instead of buying high profile names, Flower acquired players for specific roles. Phil Salt has the license to go in the power game, Jitesh Sharma is told to go mentally from the first moment, and Tim David is the designated finishing company. The batting unit has shown high intention throughout the season.
In the bowling of bowling, they added to Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvnehwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya. Bowling players are experts in defensive bowling T20. Hazlewood has been the point of difference for them, with the additional rebound it generates.
A coaching legend in the T20 sand
A former Zimbabwe’s legend, Andy Flower has created his own legacy in the T20 Arena as a coach. His understanding of the game is far ahead of his teammates, and that is reflected in his training style. It is brilliant in the construction of the equipment, focusing on roles driven tactics.
The success he has had as coach shows that his methods have worked. Flower won the T20 World Cup for the first time in 2010 with England. After spending more than a decade at the ECB, he entered the franchise circuit in 2020. He turned the fortune of the finenes of fine in the Super League of Pakistan. A franchise that had never reached the playoffs won a title in 2021 and exceeded the stage of the League on both sides under the mandate of Flower, playing in three of four finals.
He also led to the previously known Santa LucĂa Zouks to return to the final of the Caribbean Premier League in 2021-22. The franchise has reached the playoffs only once in seven seasons before Flower joined them. Flower took Trent Rockets to the title in The Hundred in 2022 and won with Gulf Giants in the ILT20 in 2023.
If the IPL 2025 is going well, Flower will have made the almost impossible, and that is to train RCB to a trophy.
