Eight teams are face to face in the three -year course to qualify for the ODI 2027 World Cup
The qualification process for the ODI 2027 World Cup has already begun. Shortly after the ODI 2023 World Cup organized by India wrapped in November of that year, the plans for the next World Cup were launched and the main contestants for the qualification began to fight since February 2024.
There are eight teams that compete in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 with the hope of being in the first four positions for when the last and 144th competition match ends in 2026.
What teams are competing at the CWC League 2 ICC?
The Netherlands, United States of America (USA), Canada, Oman, Scotland, Namibia, Nepal and United Arab Emirates (EAU) are the eight nations competing in the CWC ICC League 2.
How can teams at the CWC League 2 ICC qualify for the Odi 2027 World Cup?
Like a extended Indian Premier League (IPL), the eight teams play at home, outside and neutral matches in the form of a triserie. In total there will be 24 tri-series with six games each.
As in the IPL, where the two best teams will have an additional advantage to finish the stage of the League at the top, the teams that end in Top 4 of the CWC League 2 will go directly to a tournament called CWC Qualifier.
The lower 4 will have to go through a elimination competition called CWC classification playoff.
There they will face the 4 best teams of the third division called CWC Challenge League.

How many teams will be there in the 2027 World Cup?
The 2027 World Cup will have 14 teams.
The eight best teams in the ICC ODI classification, in addition to the hosts, will automatically qualify.
South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe are the co -elites of the World Cup. South Africa and Zimbabwe have automatically described, but Namibia will have to go through the qualification process because they are not a complete member of the ICC.
The remaining four teams come from the CWC qualifier.
