Veteran players return while Pakistan names a team of 15 members for Champions Trophy 2025

Pakistan will be aimed at defending the coveted title, having won it during the last edition in 2017.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed its 15 members team for the next Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to start from November 19. In particular, the hosts have brought back the veteran players Fakhar Zaman and Faheem Ashraf while aiming to defend the coveted title, having won it during the last edition in 2017.

WICKETKEPER-BATTER MOHAMMAD Rizwan will continue captain of men in green after assuming the role after Babar Azam’s resignation after the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. This marks the first ICC tournament in the 50 OVER format since then.

Speaking about the Bologna Department, Pakistan has opted for a rotating attack led only by Ahmed Abrar, who has only four appearances in Odi in his name. The absence of a second specialized spinner exerts additional pressure to part -time bowling players such as Salman Ali Agha and Khushdil Shah.

On the contrary, the fast unit is strong, with people like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah.

“We understand how much I long for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and we recognize how devastating a global event must be for him, especially when he is in such an exceptional batter.”

He added: “However, as a valuable asset for our team, we are committed to prioritizing your long -term health on making hurried decisions.”

The same squad will also be presented in the homemade TRIS series with South Africa and New Zealand, before the ICC event.
