Ambati Rayudu and Virat Kohli

The former Cricket player of India Ambati Rayudu finally opened about the accusations made by Robin Uthappa about the veteran batter of India Virat Kohli. Rayudu defended Virat Kohli and even said he was supported by the former Captaincy of India during his mandate.

The conversation was around the exclusion of Ambati Rayudu of the Indian team team for the 2019 ODI World Cup. Rayudu was in India’s plans in the period prior to the tournament, since he was prepared for the 4th place 4 in the batting order.

However, he was not chosen in the team for the tournament. Even when the Shikhar Dhawan starter was injured, Rayudu was expected to be his replacement. However, the team’s management decided to choose Allrounder Vijay Shankar, leaving all perplexed about Rayudu’s exclusion.

While talking with Lallantop earlier this year, Robin Uthappa put serious accusations about Virat Kohli by stating that the former captain of India did not let anyone enter the team based on their own evaluations.

Uthappa cited an example and said that Kohli did not let the selectors choose Ambati Rayudu even though he was fully prepared to travel to England. He accused Kohli closing Rayudu’s door abruptly.

“If he (Virat Kohli) nobody liked, he didn’t feel that someone was good, then they were cut.

“He had World Cup clothes and a World Cup Kit Bag; everything was there at home. A player would be thinking that he would go to the World Cup. But you closed it. That was not fair depending on me,” he added.

Ambati Rayudu about the accusations of Robin Uthappa about Virat Kohli

During a recent interview, Ambati Rayudu finally opened on the subject and defended Virat Kohli. He even claims to be supported by the former patron of India during his leadership mandate and revealed that Kohli understands his struggles.

“What (Robin) Uthappa was trying to say is that (virat) Kohli has strong I like and disgust. But in my case, Kohli was the one who supported me. He liked it. When I was there in his captaincy, we played many games for India. It was the one who took me to the team,” Rayu said by Hindustan Times.

“He understands the fight because he is also a humble background and has played a tremendous Crick.

Rayudu further elaborated his expulsion by stating that it was the decision of the team’s management to drop it and, therefore, Kohli does not have to be blamed for that. He believes that Vijay Shankar was chosen ahead of him on the basis of logic instead of preferences.

“What Uthappa mentioned was that during his captaincy, he made mistakes. It is not about preferences, but it is logic, which may have been the right thing.

I will not say that Kohli or Ravi Shastri or MSK (Prasad) did that, it was a collective decision. They thought something else would be better for their team. But I don’t think it’s personal, “he explained.

India reorganizes the batting order

With Shikhar Dhawan outside the tournament after the match against Australia in the 2019 ODI World Cup, KL Rahul, whom he received No. 4 before, was pressured to open. Allrounder Vijay Shankar was slotted in the average order.

India even tested Rishabh Pant purely as a mass for number 4 position, but did not work particularly well. The blue men had a good tournament when they ended at the top of the group stage. However, they lost the semifinal element against New Zealand and withdrew from the tournament.
