Melbourne Renegades batsman Jonathan Wells had all the luck in his favor in the ongoing match against Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25. The 23rd match of the tournament between the teams will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.
Jonathan Wells plays a good hand for his team in the ongoing Big Bash League match and made sure to help his team get a decent total on the board. The right-hander came out to bat at number 5 and got his team out of trouble as they struggled to get going with the bat.
Wells came in to bat as the Melbourne Renegades reeled at 53/3. The right-hander absorbed all the pressure and made sure to get some runs under his belt for the team, taking his team to a total of around 170, which at one point seemed impossible, especially when the team lost early wickets.
But it’s fair to say Wells also had good luck. During the third ball of the 15th over, Peter Siddle bowled a delivery that almost got the batsman out, but the fast bowler was unlucky to get the wicket under his belt.
Jonathan Wells made space and looked to pass the offside spot; the ball leaned in and took the inside edge. It went to Sam Harper’s left and the keeper-batsman lunged and caught it both hands but couldn’t take it. The bail also lit up as the ball passed the stumps.

For Melbourne Stars, Joel Paris was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with figures of 2/23. Along with him, Peter Siddle also bagged two scalps, while Mark Steketee and Usama Mir were also among the wickets. The stars would be sure to pursue the goal and score two important points.
