Watch: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and others arrive in Kanpur for IND vs BAN second Test

Indian national cricket team captain Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and others have arrived in Kanpur ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh national cricket team. The final match of the series will be held at Green Park on September 27.

The Test match series between India and Bangladesh began on September 19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Notably, the hosts finished the match on Day 4 and then enjoyed some time off before meeting again on Tuesday (September 24) in Kanpur.

The ongoing Test match against Bangladesh will be a great opportunity for Rohit Sharma and his team to get all their bases right ahead of the important Test series ahead. Though they won the first match, there were some issues that needed to be sorted out.

The form of some of the players will be important going forward and with the Kanpur surface expected to be good for batting, it will be a great opportunity for the batsmen to find their groove. Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, in particular, will want to score some runs.

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did not have a great performance with the bat in the first Test. The top batsmen failed in both innings and would be keen to make an impact in the second Test. Their form would be crucial for the team going into the Test season.

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli arrived in Kanpur three days before the second match. While Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar arrived together, Kohli was seen arriving with Rishabh Pant and Gautam Gambhir.

Some reports claimed that the second Test between India and Bangladesh would be played on black soil, and the surface would offer very little bounce and carry and is also unlikely to change position. It is expected to be flatter, with less bounce and the surface will become increasingly slower as the Test gets older.

The reports also added that India is likely to make a change in their playing XI due to the nature of the pitch. They are likely to play with three bowlers and there are chances of India bringing in one of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel’s spinners into the squad. Akash Deep is expected to miss the match.

The Indian national cricket team won the first Test of the series by a massive margin of 280 runs. There were quite a few players who performed well for the team, with Ravichandran Ashwin being the main one. He hit a lot and also took 6 wickets for the team.

Shubman Gill (119*) and Rishabh Pant (109) also scored centuries which helped India set a massive target of 515 runs. They will be keen to maintain the same form and help the team win and complete the whitewash.
